shovelhead First off let me say I had a great time, but how can you not in New Orleans. The main thing was the very light turnout i was in the convention center at about 5 on Saturday and there were 4 people watching the band. I believe lack of advertising was the culprit. I rode over from Houston and nobody here even knew it was going on. Not even bike shops knew anything, I didnt see anything in the regional biker magazines, no flyers at Biker hang outs at all. I Stopped at a couple of places in LA on the way, same thing, nobody knew about it. There wasnt alot going on in the broken spoke during the day either, 2 1/2 hours of a magic show? at a bike rally? I think I could have come up with some adult style entertainment (bike games, bikinis, lingerie, boobs, tattoos). Also why was the ride in bike show on Sunday, Hello! everybody leaves on sunday. I did see the event map that said no bikes allowed in the quarter too, i am sure that turned people off. Like I said before I did have fun and will be there next year, i loved the Broken Spoke Girls and the Wall of Death, the beer prices were decent also and you cant beat free mudbugs. Just advertise better and liven it up some 6/2/09 3:14 PM
